Are We Not Cats
A truly unique love story Are We Not Cats is a one of a kind film and a real discovery for audiences seeking something different.
Eli is a 30 something loner. He’s well meaning enough but is basically a loser living from day to day. That is until his parents decide to move to Arizona taking the last vestige of security he had left…but they do leave him a removal truck.
The back of the truck becomes Eli’s home until he meets Anya. She’s spunky and cool but perhaps not what she seems and has an unusual habit of eating hair. From there things move into decidedly unpredictable territory for characters and audiences alike.
It’s always so refreshing when new approaches and new ideas cross your path. Director Robin obviously has great respect for high production value filmmaking and he is also obviously committed to pushing the creative limits of storytelling just about as far as it can go with no small amount of body horror.
The Hollywood Reporter says of Robin “His next steps should be followed closely”. True. This is bold, inventive, imaginative and vigorous filmmaking – and with a fantastic soundtrack.
