Detour

A lean and muscular thriller Detour plays with time and space in quite the most thrilling of ways. There’s more sliding doors here than a Bunnings Warehouse as this story of murder and revenge throbs along the desert road that leads directly to the mecca of badassness – Las Vegas.

Harper’s (Sheridan) mother has recently died and he figures his step father has had something to with it. In a chance meeting with a small-time criminal Johnny Ray (Cohen), Harper starts speculating how he may resolve the issue. Unfortunately for everyone this speculation takes a life of its own faster than anyone can image.

Enter a fuel-injected muscle car, a beautiful but trapped woman (Powley), a cocaine infused road trip, a big debt to a deranged psychopath and the wide-open road.

Detour looks and sounds great and with a super clever story it’s a wholly rewarding experience for lovers of crime, action and road movies. It’s lots of fun so make sure your popcorn is a large one.
